Container Desiccant Hanging 8x125 g (1 Box 12 pcs)
Container Desiccant Hanging 8x125 g – 40 ft and Ocean Routes
An eight-pack set of hanging container desiccants, the highest capacity option, intended for 40 ft containers and long ocean voyages. It is sized to prevent container rain on routes that cross more than one climate zone.
What causes "container rain"?
The air sealed inside a container carries the humidity present at the moment of loading. As the vessel crosses the equator, the steel roof can reach 50 °C in daytime sun and then cool rapidly overnight with the outside air. Because the amount of moisture air can hold falls as it cools, water droplets form on the chilled ceiling and fall onto the cargo below. In shipping this is known as container rain. Over a thirty-day voyage a container repeats that cycle dozens of times, and the water collecting on top of the load can be enough to collapse a cardboard stack or start corrosion on exposed metal. An eight-pack set binds the airborne moisture before it reaches dew point and breaks the cycle.

Distribution in a 40 ft container
- Open the packs once loading is complete.
- Divide the container mentally into four zones: rear, rear-middle, front-middle and door.
- Hang two packs in each zone, on opposite side walls.
- Keep all of them close to the roof, above the cargo line.
- Check that no pack rubs against the load, then close the doors.
Box contents: 12 eight-pack sets
One box holds 12 eight-pack sets — 96 packs and 12 kilograms of absorbent, the largest box in the range. An eight-pack is the recommended dose for a 40 ft container, so one box covers 12 40 ft shipments. For shippers running a regular deep-sea service it is the unit that makes per-container budgeting straightforward.
Frequently asked questions
Is it enough for a 40 HC high cube?
A high cube has slightly more volume; with hygroscopic cargo, two sets are safer.
What if the voyage exceeds 60 days?
For long voyages with port delays, increase capacity or inspect at the discharge port.
Does it eliminate container rain completely?
It keeps the moisture load below dew point so dripping does not occur. If the cargo was loaded wet, desiccant alone may not be enough.
How many 40 ft containers does one box cover?
It holds 12 eight-pack sets; at one set per container that is 12 forty-foot shipments.
