The 500 g industrial moisture absorber is used to prevent mould and rust in warehouse shelving, machine cabinets and packaged stock. It is the most widely used size in the range.

What does damp do to shelf stock?

Stock sitting on a shelf faces a different risk from cargo in transit: here the exposure is long. A container spends thirty days at sea, but a product in a warehouse may sit for six months. Over that time cardboard packaging absorbs moisture and loses compression strength, so the lower rows of a stack crush; labels and barcodes lift and scanning errors begin; surface rust forms on metal parts. Because the damage builds over months rather than appearing suddenly, several products are usually affected by the time anyone notices.
