Temperature & Humidity Meter
Temperature & Humidity Meter 45 mm – Measure the Room
This 45 mm mini temperature and humidity meter shows the ambient temperature and the relative humidity of a space on a single display. It is made for tracking humidity in living spaces such as homes, rooms and offices.
What relative humidity readings mean
Relative humidity tells you what percentage of the water vapour the air could hold at that temperature is actually present. As a rough reading guide: below 45% counts as dry and is not good for timber and leather over time. 45–60% is the band to aim for, both for comfort and for the condition of stored goods. Above 60–65% the air starts to feel damp. Above 65% conditions favour mould spores, and in a room that stays there for long, mould growth is only a matter of time. Acting without measuring is guesswork — the number of moisture absorber packs should follow the reading.

Getting an accurate reading
- Place the unit near the middle of the area you want to measure.
- Do not put it against an exterior wall or window; that reading is not representative.
- Keep it away from radiators, air conditioning and cookers.
- After moving it, allow a few minutes for the reading to settle.
- If the reading is above 65%, consider increasing the number of absorber packs.
Frequently asked questions
How do I work out how many absorber packs I need?
Measure the relative humidity first. If it is above 65%, start with a pack sized to the volume and measure again a week later; if the value has not fallen, add more packs.
Can it go inside a cupboard?
Yes. Humidity inside a cupboard is often higher than the room average, which is exactly why enclosed spaces need their own packs.
Is the reading the same everywhere in a room?
No. Points near exterior walls and close to the floor are damper; measuring in the middle of the room is more representative.
